On Tap in Coles Bay & More

With no cellar door yet, here’s where you’ll find us on tap

lluka Tavern, The Esplanade, Coles Bay, opposite Muirs beach.

We have two taps in the main bar, right next to the main big brewery taps, with our pick of the seasonal beers we’ve brewed. So if you’re in the bistro, pop in to the bar and see what’s pouring.
If you’re looking to meet locals and their dogs, (you might be issing your best friend) outside the main bar is for you.

Bistro meals are available at this popular local venue, lunch and dinner. Kids are catered for, with meals and a kids play room. Bistro hours will adjust for the season, open later in summer and closing earlier in winter.

Big Pete’s Eats, Swanwick Rd at the Golf Club, Coles Bay

The place to eat in Swanwick.
Open Monday to Saturday, lunch and dinner, and sometimes Sunday for the local Open Mic nights. If you’re a frustrated muso from out of town, someone will lend you a guitar so you can entertain the locals at Open Mic.

Another great place to meet locals, perhaps after their golf round. Visitors can play golf too.

Big Pete’s offers a pub style menu, with more than chips and nuggets for the little people.
Thursday nights is Parmie night.
Pete usually has our Irish Red Ale on tap, plus other Tasmanian craft beers.
A great friendly local atmosphere.

Freycinet Lodge, Coles Bay Rd, Coles Bay, set in the National Park.

In the bar, restaurant and bistro youy will find Malting Lagoon on tap (one tap) at this Coles Bay Icon venue.

We tend to go and grab dinner from the bar menu when the sunset looks promising. The deck is fabulous for sunset viewing, and if you look down into the water you can sometimes see stingrays hunting of an evening.

Bookings are a good idea for the restaurant, however the bar is walk in service. There is a lounge with an open fire place for colder evenings off the bar, and huge comfy couches. The Bistro is family friendly.
Staff are friendly and helpful too, with great knowledge about local activities.

New to town in 2025, Intrepid have arrived on the scene in Coles Bay, and we have to say have fitted right in to the local vibe.
Operating from the original Edge of the Bay Resort location, the restaurant is offering breakfast for in house guests, and dinner for everyone, Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30pm.

We can tell local chef Wade is enjoying himself here. It’s evident in the food. Wade is focused on local produce. Expect venison from the nearby mountains to be on the menu when available.

We’ve got one tap currently, which we’re cycling with what we think works at the time, for season and for what Wade has on the menu. That may change in the future...

Tandy’s Alehouse, 100-102 Elizabeth St, Launceston

Serving Tasmanian Craft Beers on Tap. Click their logo to see if our Creamy Irish Ale is currently on their current tap list.
Byron only has Tasmanian beverages on tap, so you’re bound to find something interesting.
Don’t fear, you can also get a glass (or bottle) of Tasmanain wine and Tasmanian spirits too.

There’s a weekly meat tray raffle on a Tuesday. You just need to buy a drink to enter. There’s the occassional trivia too. Check the Facebook page if you’re keen and in Launceston.
There’s no kitchen however you can grab takeaway and eat in at this venue. We like the Curry Club up the Road and Buddha Thai around the corner. Mr Singh from Curry Club will even bring it down to the bar for you.
